Eibhlis Farrell

b. 20th Century

Eibhlis Farrell is from Rostrevor in Northern Ireland. She studied composition with Raymond Warren, Charles Wuorinen and Robert Moevs, and is a graduate of Queen's University, Belfast; Bristol University, England; and Rutgers University, New Jersey, US. Her output includes vocal, orchestral and chamber music, and she has had performances and broadcasts of her work in many European countries and the United States. Her music has represented Ireland at the UNESCO International Composers' Rostra. Dr. Farrell is a member of AOSDANA, Ireland's state-sponsored academy of creative artists, and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts. She is currently Head of the Dublin Institute of Technology Conservatory of Music and Drama.
