Judith Zaimont

Judith Lang Zaimont is an internationally-recognized composer whose music is characterized by its expressive strength, dynamism, and rhythmic vitality. Her music is frequently played in the United States and abroad; in recent years her orchestral works have been programmed by the Philadelphia, Baltimore, Jacksonville, Harrisburg, Women's Philharmonic, Madison and Nassau symphony orchestras. Among her many composition awards are a Guggenheim Fellowship, the McCollin Competition for Composers (for Symphony #1), a Maryland State Arts Council creative fellowship, and commission grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Minnesota Composers Forum.
